The Riparian Vineyard Malbec

Bleasdale The Riparian Vineyard Malbec is sourced from its namesake vineyard in Langhorne Creek, planted in 1988 on the opposite side of the Bremer River from the winery.

When Frank Potts established Bleasdale in 1850, he extended its boundary to both sides of the river. This provided him with the ability to control the flow of the river known as a Riparian Right.

The fruit is destemmed to open concrete fermenters and pumped over up to four times daily during peak fermentation. After around 10 days on skins, the juice is drained, pressed and settled for 24 hours.

The wine is then racked to seasoned French oak puncheons for malolactic fermentation and 12 months of maturation. Prior to bottling it is racked but not fined or filtered prior.

Dark purple, Bleasdale The Riparian Vineyard Malbec is full bodied and concentrated, yet perfumed and finely structured. Cellaring potential is 15 years.
